Essaouira - Die Eingeschlossene - ist eine Hafenstadt mit etwa 85'000 Einwohnern. Vor der Unabhaengigkeit Marokkos (1956) wurde die Stadt auch 'Mogador' genannt. Dieser Name geht vermutlich auf die Portugiesen zurueck und wird heute nur noch für die vorgelagerte Insel verwendet. Die vollstaendig erhaltene Medina von Essaouira wurde im Jahr 2001 von der UNESCO als Weltkulturerbe anerkannt. Eine unverwechselbare Architektur – die blau-weissen Fassaden sind typisch für Essaouira – und die Scala de la Kasbah (portugiesische Festung) zeigen heute noch den portugiesischen Einfluss. Dort koennen am Markt frische Fische gekauft werden und/oder solche im Restaurant selber auswaehlen und per Gewicht bezahlen.
Essaouira wird auch als Kuenstlerstadt bezeichnet, weil hier schon immer Schriftsteller, Kuenstler und Saenger Heimat und Inspiration gefunden haben. In Handwerksbuden werden Schmuckstuecke aus Holz hergestellt, ueberall sind kleine Kuenstlerwerkstaetten und restaurierte Riads zu finden. Auf dem Stadtplatz findet jedes Jahr im Juni das Gnaoua-Musikfestival statt, das Tausende Besucher anlockt. Im Hinterland von Essaouira wachsen die typisch marokkanischen Arganbaeume, aus deren Nuessen das beruehmte und sehr schmackhafte Araganoel gewonnen wird. Fragen Sie uns danach.
1 Day // Marrakech - Agadir - Marrakech
Two steps from Marrakech Asni and Valley Ourika, inhabited mainly by Berber population, extend over sixty km. Valley Ourika is the favorite destination of Marrakchis, particulary during periods of high heat. The visit of these valley is by a winding road through the contours of the mountain chain of the High Atlas to the nuanced and varied landscapes, green, where nature has largely remained intact.
The village of Ouzoud is in a strategic location: the meeting point of two of the four main mountain ranges of Morocco, Mittle Atlas and High Atlas. This site, listed as one of the 'wonders of nature', offers the possibility of a beautiful hiking to gain the heights of its beautiful and breathtaking waterfalls located 110m above sea level, by a tortuous path to maountainside in the middle of a vast olive grove and along the three waterfalls.
Depart from Marrakech to Imlil the last village before the accession of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africe (4167m), Imlil and also the point of departure of numerous hiking trails in the Toubkal National Park.
